NSF-Sponsored Student Awards for IJCNN 2011

The 2011 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN 2011) will offer a limited number of awards to students presenting papers or abstracts at the conference. The awards are sponsored by the National Science Foundation as part of the "From Brains to Machines" program at the conference. Each award will provide registration to the conference including all tutorials and workshops. The following requirements must be met for eligibility under this program:

1. The applicant must be a full-time student at a U.S. academic institution.
2. The applicant must be an author on an accepted paper or abstract, and present it at the conference.

Email applications must be submitted by May 20, 2011 to the Special Sessions Chair, Steven Bressler (bressler@fau.edu). Each application must provide the following information:

1. Full name
2. Full departmental and institutional affiliation.
3. A letter signed by the student's advisor or departmental official certifying full-time student status.
4. ID number for at least one accepted IJCNN 2011 paper or abstract on which the student is an author.

Decisions will be made by May 30, and will be based, in part, on the application receipt date and on reviews for the paper that the student plans to present. Authors of full papers will be given priority over authors of abstracts. Preference will be given to women, under-represented minorities, and those from primarily undergraduate institutions.
